The Saskatchewan Industrial and Mining Suppliers Associations’ (SIMSA) membership discussed billions-of-dollars in opportunities at SIMSA’s roundtable event with Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) on November 27, 2023 in Regina.

Members learned about FCL’s renewable diesel, carbon capture, and canola crush projects.

As with other SIMSA roundtable events, there were presentations by key FCL persons in the areas of procurement, project teams, and executives, as well as ample networking time.   FCL employees were seated one per table around the room and SIMSA members were allowed to sit were they wanted for the day-long event.  Half of the time was set aside for free flow networking.

The event presented an overview of the various projects, so the supply chain could decide where they fit in.  FCL also gathered feedback on items such as size of scopes, and discuss their commitment to local content.

Presenting from FCL were:

  • Patrick Bergermann – Associate Vice-President, Energy Roadmap
  • Jen Stiglitz – General Manager – Refinery Operations
